9(A) "When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. 10And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God.11(B) "You shall not steal;(C) you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another. 12(D) You shall not swear by my name falsely, and so(E) profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. 13(F) "You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him.(G) The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. 14(H) You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall(I) fear your God: I am the LORD. 15(J) "You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. 16(K) You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not(L) stand up against the life[a] of your neighbor: I am the LORD. 17(M) "You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but(N) you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you(O) incur sin because of him. 18(P) You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but(Q) you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.Footnotes:Leviticus 19:16 Hebrew blood
14(A) Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke, and the people marveled. 15But some of them said, "He casts out demons(B) by Beelzebul, the prince of demons," 16while others,(C) to test him, kept seeking from him a sign from heaven. 17(D) But he,(E) knowing their thoughts, said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. 18And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. 19And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul,(F) by whom do(G) your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 20But if it is by(H) the finger of God that I cast out demons, then(I) the kingdom of God has come upon you. 21When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; 22(J) but when one stronger than he attacks him and(K) overcomes him, he takes away his(L) armor in which he trusted and(M) divides his spoil. 23(N) Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
24(O) "When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through(P) waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' 25And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And(Q) the last state of that person is worse than the first."
27As he said these things,(R) a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him,(S) "Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!" 28But he said, (T) "Blessed rather are those(U) who hear the word of God and(V) keep it!"
29(W) When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, (X) "This generation is an evil generation.(Y) It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. 30For as(Z) Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31(AA) The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and(AB) condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold,(AC) something greater than Solomon is here. 32(AD) The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and(AE) condemn it, for(AF) they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold,(AG) something greater than Jonah is here.
33(AH) "No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 34Your eye is(AI) the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is(AJ) bad, your body is full of darkness. 35(AK) Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. 36If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright,(AL) as when a lamp with its rays gives you light."Cross references:Luke 11:14 : For Luke 11:14, 15, Matt 12:22-24; Matt 9:32-34 Luke 11:15 : Matt 10:25 Luke 11:16 : John 8:6 Luke 11:17 : For Luke 11:17-22, Matt 12:25-29; Mark 3:23-27 Luke 11:17 : Matt 9:4 Luke 11:19 : Acts 19:13 Luke 11:19 : 2 Kgs 2:7 Luke 11:20 : Exodus 8:19; 31:18; Deut 9:10; Psalm 8:3 Luke 11:20 : Luke 17:21; Matt 19:24; 21:31, 43 Luke 11:22 : Isa 49:24-26 Luke 11:22 : John 16:33 Luke 11:22 : Eph 6:11 Luke 11:22 : Isa 53:12 Luke 11:23 : Matt 12:30; Luke 9:50; Mark 9:40 Luke 11:24 : For Luke 11:24-26, Matt 12:43-45 Luke 11:24 : Psalm 63:1; Jer 2:6 Luke 11:26 : 2 Pet 2:20-22; John 5:14 Luke 11:27 : Luke 12:13 Luke 11:27 : 2 Chr 9:7; Luke 1:48 Luke 11:28 : Rev 1:3; 22:7 Luke 11:28 : Luke 8:21; James 1:22 Luke 11:28 : Lev 22:31 Luke 11:29 : Luke 12:1 Luke 11:29 : For Luke 11:29-32, Matt 12:39-42; Mark 8:11, 12 Luke 11:29 : Luke 11:16; Matt 12:38 Luke 11:30 : Jonah 1:17 Luke 11:31 : 1 Kgs 10:1; 2 Chr 9:1 Luke 11:31 : Heb 11:7; Jer 3:11; Ezek 16:51, 52; Rom 2:27 Luke 11:31 : Matt 12:6 Luke 11:32 : Jonah 1:2 Luke 11:32 : Luke 11:31 Luke 11:32 : Jonah 3:5 Luke 11:32 : Luke 11:31 Luke 11:33 : Luke 8:16; Matt 5:15; Mark 4:21 Luke 11:34 : Matt 6:22, 23 Luke 11:34 : Deut 15:9 Luke 11:35 : Luke 11:34 Luke 11:36 : Matt 5:16
