1Thus says the LORD,
"(A)Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool
Where then is a (B)house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest?
2"For (C)My hand made all these things,
Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD
"But to this one I will look,
To him who is humble and (D)contrite of spirit, and who (E)trembles at My word.
25(A)At that time Jesus said, "I praise You, (B)Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that (C)You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants.26"Yes, (D)Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. 27"(E)All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father (F)except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28"(G)Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29"Take My yoke upon you and (H)learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and (I)YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30"For (J)My yoke is easy and My burden is light." 1Then Job responded,
2"How long will you torment me
And crush me with words?
3"These ten times you have insulted me;
You are not ashamed to wrong me.
4"Even if I have truly erred,
My error lodges with me.
5"If indeed you (A)vaunt yourselves against me
And prove my disgrace to me,
6Know then that (B)God has wronged me
And has closed (C)His net around me.
7"Behold, (D)I cry, 'Violence!' but I get no answer;
I shout for help, but there is no justice.
8"He has (E)walled up my way so that I cannot pass,
And He has put (F)darkness on my paths.
9"He has (G)stripped my honor from me
And removed the (H)crown from my head.
10"He (I)breaks me down on every side, and I am gone;
And He has uprooted my (J)hope (K)like a tree.
11"He has also (L)kindled His anger against me
And (M)considered me as His enemy.
12"His (N)troops come together,
And (O)build up their way against me
And camp around my tent.
21"Pity me, pity me, O you my friends,
For the (A)hand of God has struck me.
22"Why do you (B)persecute me as God does,
And are not satisfied with my flesh?
23"Oh that my words were written!
Oh that they were (C)inscribed in a book!
24"That with an iron stylus and lead
They were engraved in the rock forever!
25"As for me, I know that (D)my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
26"Even after my skin is destroyed,
Yet from my flesh I shall (E)see God;
27Whom I myself shall behold,
And whom my eyes will see and not another.
My heart (F)faints within me!
1But Jesus went to (A)the Mount of Olives.2Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and (B)He sat down and began to teach them. 3The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, 4they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. 5"Now in the Law (C)Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?" 6They were saying this, (D)testing Him, (E)so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. 7But when they persisted in asking Him, (F)He straightened up, and said to them, "(G)He who is without sin among you, let him be the (H)first to throw a stone at her." 8Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. 10(I)Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" 11She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "(J)I do not condemn you, either Go From now on (K)sin no more."]
12Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "(L)I am the Light of the world; (M)he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."13So the Pharisees said to Him, "(N)You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not true." 14Jesus answered and said to them, "(O)Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know (P)where I came from and where I am going; but (Q)you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15"(R)You judge according to the flesh; (S)I am not judging anyone. 16"But even (T)if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me. 17"Even in (U)your law it has been written that the testimony of (V)two men is true. 18"I am He who testifies about Myself, and (W)the Father who sent Me testifies about Me." 19So they were saying to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father; (X)if you knew Me, you would know My Father also." 20These words He spoke in (Y)the treasury, as (Z)He taught in the temple; and no one seized Him, because (AA)His hour had not yet come.
