1Simon Peter, a (A)bond-servant and (B)apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received (C)a faith of the same kind as ours, by (D)the righteousness of (E)our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:2(F)Grace and peace be multiplied to you in (G)the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3seeing that His (H)divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true (I)knowledge of Him who (J)called us by His own glory and excellence. 4For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent (K)promises, so that by them you may become (L)partakers of the divine nature, having (M)escaped the (N)corruption that is in (O)the world by lust. 5Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith (P)supply (Q)moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, (R)knowledge, 6and in your knowledge, (S)self-control, and in your self-control, (T)perseverance, and in your perseverance, (U)godliness, 7and in your godliness, (V)brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 8For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor (W)unfruitful in the true (X)knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9For he who lacks these qualities is (Y)blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his (Z)purification from his former sins. 10Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His (AA)calling and (AB)choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never (AC)stumble; 11for in this way the entrance into (AD)the eternal kingdom of our (AE)Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be (AF)abundantly (AG)supplied to you. 12Therefore, (AH)I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in (AI)the truth which is present with you. 13I consider it (AJ)right, as long as I am in (AK)this earthly dwelling, to (AL)stir you up by way of reminder, 14knowing that (AM)the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, (AN)as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 15And I will also be diligent that at any time after my (AO)departure you will be able to call these things to mind. 27(A)Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of (B)Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, "Who do people say that I am?"28(C)They told Him, saying, "John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; but others, one of the prophets." 29And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" (D)Peter answered and said to Him, "You are the Christ." 30And (E)He warned them to tell no one about Him. 31(F)And He began to teach them that (G)the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32And He was stating the matter (H)plainly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind Me, (I)Satan; for you are not setting your mind on [a]God's interests, but man's." 34And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and (J)take up his cross and follow Me. 35"For (K)whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. 36"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? 37"For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38"For (L)whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, (M)the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He (N)comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."
1And Jesus was saying to them, "(O)Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power."Footnotes:Mark 8:33 Lit the things of God
1In the (A)twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the (B)city was taken, on that same day the (C)hand of the LORD was upon me and He brought me there.2In the (D)visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and set me on a very (E)high mountain, and on it (F)to the south there was a (G)structure like a city. 3So He brought me there; and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of (H)bronze, with a (I)line of flax and a (J)measuring rod in his hand; and he was standing in the gateway. 4The man said to me, "(K)Son of man, (L)see with your eyes, hear with your ears, and give attention to all that I am going to show you; for you have been brought here in order to show it to you (M)Declare to the house of Israel all that you see." 1Then he led me to the (A)gate, the gate facing toward the east;2and behold, the (B)glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the (C)east And His (D)voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth (E)shone with His glory. 3And it was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, like the (F)vision which I saw when He came to (G)destroy the city And the visions were like the vision which I saw by the (H)river Chebar; and I (I)fell on my face. 4And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the (J)east. 5And the (K)Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the (L)glory of the LORD filled the house. 6Then I heard one speaking to me from the house, while a (M)man was standing beside me. 7He said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of My (N)throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will (O)dwell among the sons of Israel forever And the house of Israel will not again defile My holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their harlotry and by the [a](P)corpses of their kings [b]when they die, 8by setting their threshold by My threshold and their door post beside My door post, with only the wall between Me and them. And they have (Q)defiled My holy name by their abominations which they have committed. So I have consumed them in My anger. 9"Now let them (R)put away their harlotry and the [c]corpses of their kings far from Me; and I will (S)dwell among them forever. 10"As for you, son of man, (T)describe the temple to the house of Israel, that they may be (U)ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the (V)plan. 11"If they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the house, its structure, its (W)exits, its entrances, all its designs, all its statutes, and all its laws And write it (X)in their sight, so that they may observe its whole design and all its statutes and (Y)do them. 12"This is the law of the house: its entire area on the top of the (Z)mountain all around shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house. Footnotes:Ezekiel 43:7 Or monuments as in Ugaritic Ezekiel 43:7 Or in their high places Ezekiel 43:9 Or monuments as in Ugaritic
