15(A)Look down from heaven and see from Your holy and glorious (B)habitation;
Where are Your (C)zeal and Your mighty deeds?
The (D)stirrings of Your heart and Your compassion are restrained toward me.
16For You are our (E)Father, though (F)Abraham does not know us
And Israel does not recognize us
You, O LORD, are our Father,
Our (G)Redeemer from of old is Your name.
17Why, O LORD, do You (H)cause us to stray from Your ways
And (I)harden our heart from fearing You?
(J)Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.
18Your holy people possessed Your sanctuary for a little while,
Our adversaries have (K)trodden it down.
19We have become like those over whom You have never ruled,
Like those who were not called by Your name.
1Oh, that You would rend the heavens and (L)come down,
That the mountains might (M)quake at Your presence--
2As fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil--
To make Your name known to Your adversaries,
That the (N)nations may tremble at Your presence!
3When You did (O)awesome things which we did not expect,
You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.
4For from days of old (P)they have not heard or perceived by ear,
Nor has the eye seen a God besides You,
Who acts in behalf of the one who (Q)waits for Him.
5You (R)meet him who rejoices in (S)doing righteousness,
Who (T)remembers You in Your ways
Behold, (U)You were angry, for we sinned,
We continued in them a long time;
And shall we be saved?
6For all of us have become like one who is (V)unclean,
And all our (W)righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us (X)wither like a leaf,
And our (Y)iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
7There is (Z)no one who calls on Your name,
Who arouses himself to take hold of You;
For You have (AA)hidden Your face from us
And have delivered us into the power of our iniquities.
8But now, O LORD, (AB)You are our Father,
We are the (AC)clay, and You our potter;
And all of us are the (AD)work of Your hand.
9Do not be (AE)angry beyond measure, O LORD,
(AF)Nor remember iniquity forever;
Behold, look now, all of us are (AG)Your people.
10Your (AH)holy cities have become a (AI)wilderness,
Zion has become a wilderness,
Jerusalem a desolation.
11Our holy and beautiful (AJ)house,
Where our fathers praised You,
Has been burned by fire;
And (AK)all our precious things have become a ruin.
12Will You (AL)restrain Yourself at these things, O LORD?
Will You keep silent and afflict us beyond measure?
1"I permitted Myself to be sought by (AM)those who did not ask for Me;
I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me
I said, 'Here am I, here am I,'
To a nation which (AN)did not call on My name.
2"(AO)I have spread out My hands all day long to a (AP)rebellious people,
Who walk in the way which is not good, following their own (AQ)thoughts,
41Now His parents went to Jerusalem every year at (A)the Feast of the Passover.42And when He became twelve, they went up there according to the custom of the Feast; 43and as they were returning, after spending the (B)full number of days, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. But His parents were unaware of it, 44but supposed Him to be in the caravan, and went a day's journey; and they began looking for Him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45When they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem looking for Him. 46Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47And all who heard Him (C)were amazed at His understanding and His answers. 48When they saw Him, they were astonished; and (D)His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You treated us this way? Behold, (E)Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You." 49And He said to them, "Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that (F)I had to be in My Father's house?" 50But (G)they did not understand the statement which He had made to them. 51And He went down with them and came to (H)Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and (I)His mother (J)treasured all these things in her heart. 52And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in (K)favor with God and men.
